What is D.ED Course?
The full form of D.Ed is Diploma in Education. This is a 2 year teacher training diploma course in which annual and semester wise exams have to be given. Along with theory, practical exams are also included in this. It is a course that develops various skills to interact with the students in a friendly manner and also teaches how to use the technological aspects to make learning fun for the students.
There are many government and non-government colleges in India to do D.Ed, where admission is taken on the basis of merit and entrance exam. Apart from this, the facilities of direct admission are available in the colleges.
What are the Eligibility Conditions to do D.Ed Course?
To enrol in Diploma in Education (D.ed) course, candidates have to pass 10+2 from a recognized board with at least 50 percent marks.
There is no requirement of any specific subjects in this, any students of science, arts or commerce can enrol in this.
There is no age limit for the candidates to get admission in this, candidates of any age can take admission.
How to Get Admission to D.Ed Course?
Candidates have two options to pursue Diploma in Education course. Either you can do regular course otherwise this Diploma in Education can be done from a distance also. There are three types of admission process available for this Course.

Admission on the basis of merit: If you fulfil all the necessary eligibility criteria, then you will have to fill the form by visiting the official website of the college. While filling the form, you have to upload the scanned copy of all your educational qualification and necessary documents.
After this, the candidates will be shortlisted by the college on the basis of merit. In shortlisting, mainly the marks obtained in 10+2 are given importance and merit list is prepared accordingly.
Admission through Entrance Exam: There are many government and private colleges where admission is taken through entrance exam. Most of such colleges conduct entrance exams on their own and only those candidates who score good marks in them are admitted to the course.
Direct Admission: Direct admission is also taken in some colleges of India. To take admission in such colleges, one has to contact the college directly, after which document verification and admission has to be done by depositing the admission fee.
